Cardiac arrest can happen anywhere, and the actions taken in the first few minutes are critical. This course gives you the skills and confidence to perform CPR and operate an AED in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines, keeping a casualty alive until emergency services arrive.

This includes, but is not limited to, workers required to hold a current CPR qualification as part of their role or industry obligations, volunteers in community and sporting organisations, parents and carers, and individuals seeking a nationally recognised CPR qualification for personal or professional development.

This course gives you the skills and confidence to recognise and respond to a wide range of first aid emergencies — from cardiac arrest and anaphylaxis to fractures and stroke — in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and Australian national peak clinical body recommendations, giving a casualty the best possible chance of a positive outcome until professional help arrives.

This includes, but is not limited to, workers required to hold a current first aid qualification as part of their role or industry obligations (e.g. construction, hospitality, education, and childcare settings), volunteers in community and sporting organisations, parents and carers, and individuals seeking a nationally recognised first aid qualification for personal or professional development.

Emergencies involving infants and children require a prompt, appropriate and confident response. This course provides the skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to a range of first aid emergencies involving infants, children and adults in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines and other Australian national peak clinical body guidelines. It also addresses the additional first aid responsibilities required within education and care settings.

This includes, but is not limited to, early childhood educators and care workers, outside school hours care and vacation care staff, education support staff, and other workers required to hold a current first aid qualification as part of their role or industry obligations in education and care settings. The course is also suitable for parents, guardians, carers and other individuals seeking a nationally recognised first aid qualification for personal or professional development.

Mental health crises can happen in any workplace or community setting, and knowing how to respond safely and effectively can make a critical difference. This course gives you the skills and confidence to recognise the signs that a person may be in crisis and to respond appropriately, in line with established crisis intervention principles, to help keep them safe until further support is available.

The target learner for this course includes community services workers who may be required to recognise and respond to a person in crisis as part of their role. This includes, but is not limited to, support workers, case workers, community and youth workers, and other professionals who have face-to-face, telephone or remote contact with people who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.
